3rd one here. i’m instantly out of any site that forces music on me.
(later): let me amend this, because it’s none of my business, is it, & it might be optional anyway in your case. so: sorry, don’t know about that unless maybe you’ve got a window onload statement in your js?
Well…the music is launched by a link that says “music jukebox”...you click or not…don’t click->no music. Up to the visitor…and if after the music is on the visitor wants to turn it off…just click the off button.
Thanks anyway for the suggestion.
Just still curious why this behavior happens. Obviously my html & javascript skills are still very low.
I second that. I sell giclées and unless you are french, you will not know how to pronounce this. So I added a mp3 of me saying “giclée”. Sadly, I could not get a javascript player to work so I just used a link. Takes the customer away from my page and loads quicktime or the windows equivalent. Sigh. But at least they get the pronunciation. This is one time I hope they use the back button.
Anyway, if anyone has a suggestion for how to embed a sound that will play once when a button that says “press me and I will make a sound” then please let us know.
Thanks.
Leo,
You can take a look at

It might help.
Regards,
Juan.
