Hi there I am wanting to sell hoodies, which come in 7 sizes and 72 colour options. I did not realize that 100 variants was a total limit and not per option eg 100 colour or 100 sizes.
I have thought about setting up a new product for each colour so just having the one variant option being size. This would then mean going back a page to select a different colour, so not ideal. However, I was trying to think about how this finished idea may look like on the published web page. Many sites I have been on seem to be able to get around this issue, but I do not know if they use Shopify. You would simply click the colour you want often a swatch and then the size.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There are a few ways to get around Shopify's 100 variant limit. They come in the form of apps from our Shopify App Store. Below, I have recommended some apps for you to help you create those larger variant items.
If these options aren't suitable, you can find a list of similar apps here: https://bit.ly/2VfOVgZ. You can filter to free apps if you wish to find a free option.
I hope this has been helpful. If you need any other guidance on this, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Hi, I have a similar problem. Clothing with up to 15 colour options and 7 or 8 size options. My technical knowledge is limited and I am really struggling with this.
I have worked out how to format my products into a csv file so I can import them that way. I have close to 1000 products. I have had a look at the Product Options by Bold app but to be honest I don't even know where to start.
Do any of these apps have the option to upload products using a csv like I can in Shopify.
