Received an email of "Failed Payment For August Invoice" From Shopify Billing <>

Once i clicked the link, it directs to the and ask me to login.

Luckily i noticed the shopify logo is in low pixel, so i stopped!

Then i login into the and checked there is no outstanding payment!

Below is the email:

An attempt to charge your card for your August , 2020 invoice failed. Your credit card company sent this explanation:
Transaction declined.
if we can't process the payment by August 12, 2020 your Shopify account will be frozen. This means your customers won’t be able to access your store or place orders.
In most cases, you need to update your payment settings and your billing information to resolve this issue.

Thank you for reaching out about this clear phishing email that you received, and for being so vigilant not to login with any personal details. 

Your account security is something that we take very seriously here, and Shopify will never ask for your sensitive information via email.

What you can do with this is to send this email with a full copy of the email (including headers) to safety@shopify.comAll phishing emails forwarded are reviewed by our security specialists, and any fraudulent URLs or domains are recorded and investigated further. 

Once you have done that, ensure you mark the email as phishing within your browser, similarly to my Gmail screenshot below.


Lastly, if you encounter a fraudulent URL inside of a phishing email, and you want to take action into your own hands, submit it to Google Safe Browsing!
