Jason,

Working in the agency industry for more than 5+ years I’ve found out the following formula which works well for the most businesses:

  1. Build the landing page. Put your product information, product with “buy now” button, product collection with direction to single product.

  2. Setup Google Analytics if you didn’t do that. Shopify has the field to insert Google Analytics ID.

  3. Check your landing page and the whole website on mobile device

  4. Make sure that you have the top or in content countdown. It has the impact on the customer. Tested many times and it works.

  5. Use Re-marketing Facebook Ads and get back audience who abandoned your deal.

  6. By the last day of promotion send the email blast with “last chance to get the deal”.

  7. Test, test and one more time test.

And finally… the most important thing

8. Find a quiet place to calculate your income :) and plan your holiday trip to Bali.

Cheers,

Nathan

Brainstorming with my team mate we came to the idea to use Email Marketing. Send the mass email with the promo deal. However, I’m asking myself which email service is the trusted one with the high delivery rate.

Does anyone have experience with Email Marketing? Which service is the good one? Mailchimp, Getresponse, MadMimi... or something else. The crucial point is the delivery rate + the cost.

Jason,

take a look at this page- lots of helpful info here. Mailchimp is very good and as well as integrating with Shopify, have a free plan, so you can run a few test campaigns to get a feel for which ones work.

Good luck!

Hi Jeremy -

Thank you (and to all the other posters) for the valuable advice. Just a quick question for you about the Secret Sale for your email list with the extra discount leading up to BFCM. I understand that you made a separate page to direct the email list there, but did you have to add new products at the discounted price? I imagine that if I were to do something similar and have a pre-BFCM secret sale, I would be stuck as to how to actually offer the extra discount as the actual products will not be discounted until BFCM starts. Not sure if this makese sense...?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Jason,

We usually use coupons to discount and use Facebook Ads and Google Adwords.

That's all.

Good luck!

Hi Tyler,

Thanks for puting one more insight. I think about launching the re-marketing campaign and use the coupon code into the display ads banner. Not sure how it would work, but will test it.
