Hey Jason and others,

Some discount idea for you, for example:

  • Get discount when refer a friend. So that people will have the incentive to refer your product to a friend and you may gain another new customer. Swell app may help
  • Get more discount when buy another product. You can use Discounted Upsells to make that idea
  • Divide your product into 3 list of discount such as, 1. "buy one get one free" list, 2. "Sale 20% off", 3. "Sale 10% off". People will have many options to choose

Tips to make your campaign more effective:

  • Build a sale page gathering all discount product so that you may get higher conversion rate. Zipify app is good at sale page template and strong with the help of SmartMarketer, but too expensive. I recommend PageFly app, quite easy to use. It also has mobile editing and landing page analytics function with lower cost
  • Try not to loss customer due to out of stock. You can use In Stock Alert app to allow people to purchase when the stock run out
  • Apply countdown clock, stock countdown to make the customer feel rush as the discount will come to an end soon. Countdown Cart may help

I just found this article and think you can have a look for more idea and stragegy: Best free Shopify apps that help you win the BFCM 2017

Effective use of keywords will help keep you at the top of searches.  Include these in your sites banners and promotional spaces for better  results.
Segment your list for promotions to target more than one group of customers.
Be sure not to overwhelm your customers with too much campaigning, keep the content relevant and succinct.

Hi guys,

Check out this blog post on how to create a Gift Card plan for BFCM!

Feel free to take advantage of our new Gift Cards (Available for any Shopify plan even Basic)

Unlike Shopify's gift cards, GiftWizard's gift cards are sent straight to the gift recipients, not the buyers, preventing confusion.

They also include a custom made branded greeting card and animation to enhance the gift receiving experience, making the process personal and memorable for the store's clients.

We collect the gift recipients' data, such as emails, phone numbers, demographics and life events so that you can retarget them with razor-sharp marketing tools. We also track everything that was done with the gift card to give you more information about what's going on at your store.

There are a few sales we always recommend that are quick and easy to run but can make a big impact got Black Friday.  Hopefully this can help a few of you!

1 - The classic Flash Sale - “25% off the entire store, or all Pants, Shirts, and Accessories” sale.  Schedule it to automatically start at midnight, and that’s it! The Product Discount app is the easiest way to do this. You can run a sale on the whole store, or a selected group of products with a click, and schedule it to start and stop when you want. No coupon codes required! You can also add live countdown timers to products on sale, or automatically tag them, and then create a collection on your store for “Black Friday Sale” items. So that’s kinda cool too :-).  You just need the Product Discount app for this promotion.

2 - The “Spend X, get a free Gift” sale. There are a couple ways to do this with the Product Discount and Upsell app, but one of the easiest ways is actually with the Sales Motivator app. You set the goal amount, say $100, and select a product to be automatically added to the cart for free when they reach the goal.  Each time they add something to the cart the app tells them how much more they need to spend. For example, “Spend $27 more and get our free Black Friday shirt”. This can all be done with the Sales Motivator app

3 - “Buy one, Get one” sale. This is similar to #2, but it’s when a customer buys a specific product. For example, “Buy any shirt on Black Friday and get 50% off an accessory, or a Free hat”.  To do this you use Product Discount to create the sale, and duplicate and hide the product so it doesn’t just show up for anyone to buy on your store.  Then you use Product Upsell to create an offer that’s triggered when they buy the appropriate product and offer that hidden item on sale, or free item, you just created with Product Discount. This uses the Product Discount  and Product Upsell app

There are many more sales you can run. If you’re looking for ideas, or how to do the above sales, we put together this “Black Friday Sale Roundup” post to help -> https://blog.boldcommerce.com/the-ultimate-black-friday-sales-round-up

Here are a few real store owners talking about how they're using Product Discount. Hope everyone’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday are AMAZING!

Hey everyone- here is a tip that isn't marketing related but can literally save your shop during the craziness of BFCM.

Have a backup of your store in case something happens!

The easiest way to do this is by using the Rewind backup app.

A couple of years ago, one of our customers contacted us in a panic because an inventory management app he had integrated into his shop deleted all of his products just days before BFCM. Luckily, we were able to recover every single product.

I wrote an article about this and 2 more data security tips to help you keep your store secure: https://pixc.com/blog/3-ways-to-increase-shopify-account-security-before-black-friday-cyber-monday/

Sign-up for an epub/ebook is a great motivator. Also discounts for sign ups like VIP or New Customer sent to their email. Capture the email leads with contact manager and popup manager such as Sumo and you can follow through with MailChimp .

Cheers,
