Can the blog author's name differ from the store owner's username?

I would like to keep the owner of the store anonymous, but also need a blog author. Does the blog author's name have to match the user name of the staff/store owner?

Hi @Kelly_Turner

You should have an active valid account, to be able to save the article as a blog author. Or you can hardcode this value from Liquid article and blog templates.

Jamie suggested a couple of solutions here: https://community.shopify.com/c/Shopify-Design/How-do-I-change-the-author-name-on-my-blog/td-p/92139

"If you will ever switch back and forth you will need to add a user with the name of your store under "accounts" in the admin. Once that account is active that user will show up as a potential author on the article edit page. You can go back and select that user as the author.

Alternatively, you can simply hard code this value in the article.liquid template and the blog.liquid template. The current value will be {{ article.author }}"

Hi @Ottomen and thank you for your reply.
I am using the Debut theme. I have followed the instructions that Lulu gave someone on another thread to simply hide the author, yet, once I have saved the blog I then return to the front end, and the author name is still displaying, even though I have deselected the "show author" options.

I have also tried to hide the author (using the Debut theme) but it still displays the author once I have saved the blog. Please can someone help?

You can contact me via ottomen2712@gmail.com. It should not be hard to do, I suppose the matter of 5 minutes.

You can do that if you use Magefan Blog App. You can create as many authors as you wish and set up the entire author page: https://magefan.com/shopify/apps/blog/new-author.
