This is an accepted solution.

Hi, @Stargazer2050!

Julie, here from Shopify Support.

It's great to hear you're wanting to start blogging. Not only are blogs great ways to connect with customers, but they can definitely help increase SEO.

In Shopify, blogs are managed in Online store > Blogs. By default, all new stores are created with a blog called News, which you can choose to rename (to “Articles”, or something similar) or replace with a new blog altogether. Once you have a blog, you can start writing blog posts. As you get started, I recommend checking out our help doc on writing blog posts. This post outlines how you can add a post to your blog, edit posts, add images to posts, and schedule posts to be published at a later date.

Once you have created your blog and published a few posts, you’ll want to make sure they are visible on your website. Which theme are you using? Most themes will allow you to add a blog section to your homepage, where you can display your most recent posts. If your theme supports this, you can add the blog section to your homepage by heading to Online store > Themes > Customize > Add section. You can also add your blog to your main navigation menu, making your blog easy for customers to access.

As you get started blogging, I highly recommend checking out our article, “How to Start a Blog That You Can Grow Into a Business”, which includes tips on how to write effective blog posts, create a publishing strategy, and how you can recycle previous content to keep your blog fresh. It also might be worth checking out an app called Related Blog Posts, which allows you to suggest related blog posts to readers through a "You May Also Be Interested In Reading" section on your blog. This app is quite popular and has some great reviews.

What kind of bog posts are you planning on writing? Have you had experience blogging before? Let me know if you have any further questions.

Hi

I'm also interrested in this question. Is it possible to display the blogs in any other page? I would like to have multiple blogs that are displayed under the collections pages...?

Is this possible?

Thanks

Hey, @FreeRangeDesign!

Great question. Is there a reason why you are wanting to display blog posts on your collection pages?

While this should be achievable through custom code, there are some apps that you could consider using. For example, PageFly, Shogun, and GemPages are three popular page builder apps that offer drag-and-drop interfaces to help you easily customize any page in your online store. With these apps, you can create custom collection pages, product pages, and blog pages. If you are wanting to avoid using custom code, then I recommend checking these apps out to see if they offer you the ability to embed blog posts on your collection pages.

In fact, these apps all offer free trials so you can get a chance to explore each one and see if they suit your needs. If you have any questions about any of these apps, you could always reach out to the developers directly via the Support section on their respective About pages. In this section, you can also find links to their FAQs where you can learn more about their features.

Alternatively, you could choose to implement this through custom code. If this is the case, then it might be worth reaching out to a Shopify Expert who can assist with the customization. I'm also curious to see if the rest of the Shopify Community has any suggestions on how this featured can be added. Which theme are you using?

I'd also love to learn more about the types of blog posts you are writing and why you are wanting to display them on your collection pages! Feel free to follow up here and let me know.

Hello Julie

Thanks for replying. I'm already using Shogun. What I'm trying to do is to have a specifc blog displayed in my collection page. This is to showcase cutomer stories and examples of how this can be used. I dont thin that there is a specific app that does what I want. I have been given a reply in another post that says that you can do this :

Use this  this loop in collection template and customize a/to your need.

{% for article in blog.articles %}
{% endfor %}

or you can follow your theme blog.liquid code"

This sounds like it is possible but I'm not a developer so could not really impliemt this. If anyone here can shed more light that would be ace

Thanks for clarifying! Have you checked with the Shogun developers to see if this is possible using their app?

If not, then this would definitely need to be achieved through custom code. While I am by no means a developer, you could try implementing this using the code provided to you. Just make sure to duplicate your theme before doing so. This will ensure that you have a backup should you make any mistakes.

Alternatively, you always have the option to hire a Shopify Expert who can carry this out for you. Nonetheless, I'm curious to know if anyone else has some other suggestions!

PageFly is great but on the introductory plans there is a limit to how many blog post you can publish. I only get two which is pretty sad! The standard Shopify blog post is really awful to look at, at least it is on my theme.
