This is an accepted solution.

Hi there!

Don here from Shopify. :)

You can absolutely use your own custom domain while your store is still on its trial period.

If you are using a third-party domain you can see how to add and connect this to your Shopify store here.

One important clarification here is that the myshopify.com domain your store is created with can't be edited after creation in any way whatsoever.

These domains are unique to each store and are used to track stores here so can't be edited, deleted or re-used at all.

Not to worry, as you can just add a different custom domain to your store if you feel you need to change direction and this would be the only domain your customers will see when browsing your store!

You can also get in touch with us via our support site whenever you have any Shopify-related questions for us.

All the best!

Regards,
Don

Hi,

I have an issue connecting my own domain with Shopify.

My own domain name is supplied by the Romanian website: https://www.rotld.ro/home/

So, I have added your CNAME and IP into my own domain website's account , and I have been waiting more than the 48 hours, in order to connect between them,

And looks like they are not connected.

I called the team from my domains's provider, and they said the problem is not from them, cause the nameserver, CNAME and IP of shopify is correctly added in the ROTLD website account.

And they checked your CNAME: shops.myshopify.com on the website https://intodns.com/ , and they said that looks like Shopify doesn't provide web hosting, you can see below the message which shows

https://intodns.com/shops.myshopify.com

Which it surprising me, cause as far as I know, Shopify do supplies web hosting, even if I am still in my free plan.

And please see in the attached photo what error message says in my account on shopify platform.

 Pls advice and help,

Thanks in advance.
