Raising an issue I've seen numerous times here and still didn't find the answer.
I use the Venue theme (also happens on the Debut theme as detailed on posts below).
On the cart page, customers are able to change item quantity to a value above inventory count. This leads to a change in total quantity and price during checkout which is 1/a terrible customer experience and 2/bypassing my minimum order value of 40€ on the website (using Minmaxify app) which is quite embarassing.
I've tried adjusting my cart.liquid with code found here (https://community.shopify.com/c/Shopify-Design/Cart-Prevent-orders-for-out-of-stock-items/td-p/61492... ) but it doesn't work.
I just want to make sure adjusted quantity on cart page is capped at inventory value. Any idea on how to solve this? I think it's a pretty big flaw.
Here are similar post for reference (there are quite a few here) :
Just got an answer from the Shopify support team so posting it here (in short : there's no easy way to do it).
"I've done some research into the issue we discussed with the checkout process for your customers. It seems that the best options would be to either do some custom coding or use an app.
With custom coding, I'm not able to offer much support because it is out of the scope of what our support team can offer. If you don't have someone that can do coding for you then you can always check out our Shopify Experts page to see if this options is good for you. There's a handful of developers on there that sell their services at different rates.
The app suggestion might be the easiest for now and it would involve this app, Neon: Display Inventory Count. From what I can tell this would allow you to display how many of each variant your store has available so your customers will see that before they select the amount they want. I encourage you to check out the link to find more and maybe even do more research to see if any other apps like this are ideal for your store."
