Changing A Customer's Order?

Without a doubt we should be able to take a phone order, ie. order for a customer.  Some of my customers receive special prices that can not be created using the Discount feature.  For example, I sell on Zulily and I have to place their orders for them. It is right near impossible to give them special pricing-- none of the apps can do what I need.

PUHlease reconsider.

We definitely NEED this!

I'm disappointed by Shopify 2 Beta not having this kind of new feature.

From a system design perspective, flexibility should be paramount and a system should reflect business practice not shape it. I need to edit an existing order that has incorrect tax applied, not create a new order. It might be appropriate to add this functionality as an official "order amendment" so as not to touch the original business record.

A bit disappointing to see trolling on a business forum.

Agree - allowing admins to update orders is a crucial piece of functionality... Same with user contact info, we get lots of phone calls from people who see their old contact info on an order confirmation and assume that we've ignored their request to change. Results is confusion and unnecessary time spent explaining...

Spoke to a Shopify rep yesterday and apparently, Shopify Beta allows you to change customer info! I just did a quick test and it worked great... awesome news from where I stand.

I have a slightly different issue than people in this thread, but the same requirements in the end.

As an admin, I need to be able to edit every line item as well as shipping costs.

We sell custom/made-to-order products and our clients pay us through purchase order. After they submit their order with their requirements (size, materials, etc.), we send them a final invoice with correct pricing/shipping. While we're an edge case, having the ability to edit an order would work perfectly for us. As other said, I'm surprised it's not feasible.

BUMP

Just had a customer order and several risk assessments came up for the billing address.

I would like to have some way to edit the existing billing address with the updated one (turns out they had just moved, but how do I know they aren't just fraudulent?), and have the updated information validated with their credit card that was used for payment.

WHEN WILL THIS BE POSSIBLE? Seriously, we've been with you guys for a few years now- still the same problems.

Am I going to have to keep cancelling orders and asking them to input valid information on a new order? That does jack for customer service, but I'm not going to sacrifice trust for a chargeback.

amen Darre. This should be a must have for shopify. I'm paying around $200/month for this service, yet its lacking basic things like editing billing and order details.

Bump -

We need the ability to change anything on an order. It makes for messy inventory when I have to change a quantity in an order in Stitch and Xero and it never matches the order amount in Shopify.

BUMP (not sure what this means but I see that everyone that wants this function is writing it!) -

The function of editing orders is key (especially items and amounts). Clients frequently forget to introduce discount codes, suddenly want to change the order, etc... We stand out for excellent customer service, and right now this kind of limitation is not allowing us to perform as we want.

Would be great to see some progress in this!
