Charged for no reason after attempting to pause my store

Upon unsuccessfully trying to close my store (shopify gave me an error message numerous times, so I've been unable to cancel), I have attempted to at least pause my store. To my surprise, I've been charged 40 USD. Is there a possibility to get a refund? I have no idea why I have to be charged simply because I want to close my store, since I have chosen a different platform. Thank you!
