Tried tested it with Google PageSpeed Insights and the score is not good. It would affect your site ranking on gg search.

16/39 for mobile/desktop.

I think you should take a look at that if something can be improved.

Hi @oldmariner

I ran your homepage through the Shopify Analyzer (free tool we built for the Shopify community) and it looks like a good amount of optimization improvements could be made. You can check out your full report at https://analyze.speedboostr.com/result/fxomtjp8t1.

Here's a list of a few things you should work on or implement:

  • Improve lazy loading. Lazy loading allows images to only load once they come into a user's view instead of trying to load all images at once. We have an article on the topic if you'd like to implement yourself: How to Lazy Load Images on Shopify to Make Your Site Faster
  • Compress and reduce oversized images.
  • Minify any scripts and stylesheets, if possible. Here's the file minification section of our optimization guide for reference: Minification section of optimization guide
  • It looks like you have a large number of requests and domains on your page. I would evaluate all of your installed apps to see if there are any you can uninstall. You typically only want to have essential, value-adding apps installed since 3rd party apps can have a significant impact on performance.
  • Check for any leftover app code. Even after uninstalling an app, they may not remove their code from your theme. It's best to go through your main theme files to see if there's any leftover code you can remove.

Those are some main optimizations you can pursue. We have a free in-depth optimization guide: How to Optimize a Shopify Site: Complete Guide to Faster Load Speed
