Client has existing plan and wants to transfer ownership of store I created to their account

I'm having trouble with transferring ownership of store I created to my client. The transfer process wants my client to select a new plan, but they already have an existing plan and domain for their older site. Is it possible to transfer or upload the theme I created to their account instead of them having to select a whole new plan in the transfer process?

Option 1 :You can export the theme and products and import them in the existing store

Option 2: Ask them to cancel the existing store, and transfer the new store
