Collection not showing all products

I have a collection showing 5 products on each row and 2 rows on the front page.

However, I have recently deleted one of the products that showed on the front page and when I deleted it, it didn't replace that 10th one with another product from that category!   It shows 5 products on row 1, but only 4 on row 2.  I have 40 products in that category.  

This is happening when I am customizing the theme, but it shows just fine when I view the site from the URL.

Why doesn't it just replace the one I deleted with another one???
