Hey,

Last year I was looking for a consignment software that worked with Shopify, and help us come online. However after not being able to find anything good, I decided to build a platform that does just that.

The goal was to build a new and modern consignment software that allows business to decrease cost with tools that saves them time, and increase revenue by making it easier to connect to more sales channels (like Shopify).

You guys can check it out here: www.frontflip.co

Would love to hear everyones feedback

Menan

We use ResaleGlobal.com (who is a Shopify partner) which manages our inventory, POS, consignor accounts and everything.  Its really easy and they have an in house team who sets it all up for you so you don't need to hire an outside consultant.  They are very helpful and customize the software to your needs.  So much better than other software for consignment because it doesn't have to be downloaded and you can access from anywhere in a browser. It also has single entry cross posting to all major shopping channels including Tradesy, eBay, Poshmark, Mercari and others that aren't available through Shopify yet.

Thanks for your comment. I've tried clicking on the frontflip link but it's broken. and I can't find any information on the net about frontflip. Can you help?

Frontflip did just go down! You can try to use jointrace.co

Thanks for letting me know that Frontflip no longer exists. And I appreciate the link to jointrace.co.

Unfortunately it looks like JoinTrace only offers software management for the consignee (the retailer or ecommerce store) whereas I am the consignor, i.e. I am a jewellery who supplies consignment goods to retailers. I noticed that @Mariahalfyard  was also looking for the same type of software in 2019 on a discussion called 'Consignment Option'. And I've just posted a discussion called 'Consignment Software (For Consigner)' in April 2022 if you want to get a better understanding of what I'm looking for. Thanks!

Aravenda will work for your needs - they are an app on the Shopify store or you can find out more at Aravenda.com

Hi @ResellXL thanks for your suggestion of Aravenda  I've had a meeting with Aravenda last week actually, but I"m not sure at this stage whether their software is going to work for me. They specialise in consignment software for consignees (the retail store) whereas I am the consigner (the artist who is supplying the retail store on consignment). They said they'd look into possibly creating a custom method so that I could use their software. But with Aravenda it's not possible to do bulk uploading of data which is really important for my business. And they also don't sync with Xero. They seem like really lovely people though, I"ll happily work with them if it's possible.

Hi. I'm in the market for solid consignment software myself. I am a shop owner that consigns peoples clothing and sells it through my store.

I read the thread that you referred to here. It's interesting because it sounds like you and the other person need a multi-channel inventory management platform - similar to what consignment shops like myself are looking for. In your case, consignment shops are one of your sales channels and you want to automatically update inventory across all potential consignment shops, your ecommerce, etc. And also more easily manage invoicing for sold items across those channels.

Have you looked into Zapier or Make.com? These apps plug software together and help you create workflows and automate processes with data that is being exchanged between systems. I can't see how any existing consignment software could cover the range of needs you have.

Thanks for your thoughts @lalisimone. All the best with your search. Good news, it seems like there's more software on the market for people in your position (the shop owner rather than a consignment wholesaler like myself).

In my case I don't need to automatically sync stock levels in real time between myself and my retail clients. But I do need a multiple warehouse scenario so that I can keep track of the stock in each individual client's store, I update the stock levels each month manually by logging that month's invoice, which then automatically deducts the stock from that client's 'warehouse'. That's all I need, rather than synced real-time data.

Tradgecko was perfect for my software needs. I used it for about 9x years until it got purchased and sunsetted by Quickbooks in 2022. Orderhive comes pretty close, but doesn't quite have all the features I need. Swim (specifically for jewellers) and Tidy also looked quite good.

Thanks for mentioning Zapier and Make. Because I couldn't find a suitable software platform I've ended up using Airtable (essentially glamorous excel spreadsheets) and creating some workarounds. We ended up using CloudConvert directly from extension scripts for document generation, and Make.com for syncing invoices to Xero.
