This is a great question. Can I ask if you are looking to set up a subscription service or delayed payment of sorts? The reason I ask is that there are several apps in the Shopify App Store where the primary feature of the app is a split or partial payments function. It is very similar to what you are looking for but not exact. You can see some of the split payment apps from the Shopify App Store below:

Could you elaborate a little on what you mean by delayed payment? Do you mean to have the customers pay after they received the product? If none of the above apps can do what you need it to, I'm thinking it might be something very customized and worth reaching out to a Shopify Expert about.

I'm wondering if the "Capturing payments" feature is something which would work for you. If the trial period was set at 7 days, then you could do manual payments. You can learn more about Capturing payments from the helpful guide Shopify has on it here.
Something else you could consider is maybe having something made custom for your store. It might be worth researching some of the Shopify Experts from the Expert directory about it.
I'm having this problem for free trial product.
As you have very good reputation in this community, I am sure you will solve my problem.
I have a shopify store. Customers can buy one-time, subscription product.
I am using Recharge recurring billing app on my store.
I want to set free trial product so i can bill from second order.
I did that myself.
But It doesn't work as expected. It is cancelled automatically for some reason.

From what you've mentioned this seems like something worth reaching out to the app developer about. This is a functionality that comes from the app and not Shopify directly which makes me think that the app developer is a good first port of call.

I just found a problem.
On the checkout page, it shows product will be expired after 1 charge.
But I swapped Free trial to the subscription product by setting variant id on the Recharge workflow.
So I didn't think this will not be isuse.
But is this can be the reason that Free trial doesn't continue subscription?
Please let me know if it should show like this
I am not sure exactly why that might be happening, but also I am not too familiar with the back end workings of that app. I would strongly suggest reaching out to the app developers directly about it as they would know best since they designed and developed the app.
