Hi,

 

I'd also like to add a bump to this feature request. I'd like to be able to turn off order confirmations for out manually generated orders only, or on specific orders as I process them, as it confuses our invoice customers, for whom we use the 'Order Printer' app to generate invoices

@JasonC, let's bump it by one more time :). We also have a client who is using Klaviyo and as mentioned before, it is indeed handy when all email templates can be customized on one platform.

Just want to follow up and let you all know that I've filed all your requests accordingly. The thread didn't go unnoticed. Keep in mind that this is the most we can do on the general support level. The development team, along with the other internal specialized teams, have the final say on which features get developed first.

 

In the meantime, I recommend you to reach out to the email marketing apps' support directly and find out if there's a way they can override their notifications over Shopify's. You can contact Omnisend's support at support@omnisend.com and Klaviyo's support at success@klaviyo.com. Thanks!

In the meantime, I recommend you to reach out to the email marketing apps' support directly and find out if there's a way they can override their notifications over Shopify's.

Concerning Klaviyo, according to their documentation, this is not possible:

 

All Shopify notification emails will still be sent through Shopify, not Klaviyo. Once you've customized each template, you will need to export the HTML code in a few clicks and paste this template code into Shopify.

So for now, we'll have to copy paste :)

Thank you so much for sharing this important information with the fellow merchants! The copy and paste method that was mentioned is copying over the HTML code created by Klayvio and paste them to the notification templates at Shopify admin. Once it's done, turn off the email notification on Klayvio's side.

+1. Please allow the notifications to be disabled. 


In the meantime it's a way to say: if is product X use template 1 (than I put the code); if not product X use template 2 (again, I just paste the code).

WHY?! WHY WHY WHY does Shopify INSIST that we send ALL our emails through them? Why do they make it so complicated?

 

WHY doesn't Shopify provide a drag/drop option or AT LEAST allow us to edit in plain text?!

 

Seriously, Shopify. Get your head out of your ass and fix this.

Jason here from Shopify Support. Thanks for the requests and feedback.

 

As of to date, the merchants can turn off Delivery notifications: Shipment out for delivery and Shipment delivered right from your admin. You can do so by Shopify admin > Settings > Notifications. Under the Delivery section, uncheck the two options and click "Save".

For the rest of the notifications, there are ways to work around the current limitations.

 

@yvesvanbroekhov had made a fantastic suggestion on copy and paste over the templates from the third-party apps to the notification templates and turn off the notifications from the app's end. This way, the customers won't receive repeated notifications from your store. 

 

While you're fulfilling your order from Orders > Specific order > Marked as fulfilled, you can uncheck "Send shipment details to your customer now". This disables the Shipping confirmation notification.

Lastly, you can adjust and remove some of the content from the notification templates through the editing feature. Keep in mind that it does require some HTML knowledge. The notification feature is a built-in feature that comes with your store. This is why the editing feature isn't in plain text at the moment.

Hi,

This goes some way to addressing some of the concerns but does not address
my question. I need to be able to opt out from sending an order
confirmation email when I menually generate an order. My invoice customers
find it confusing and it is frustrating to explain that they will receive
multiple emails to confirm and invoice a single order

Hi Jason thanks, as @RRBPhotobooks said this does not respond the question for the thank you email for purchase.

The automatic email for the purchase still sent out.

dwiss.myshopify.com is my store and I also want that the email do not be mandatory.
