We are working on new website [www.example.com] and not using shopify ecomerce platform for website hosting but using a only checkout, order processing and API integration. In some point our online customers redirect to checkout flow at [example.shopify.com] domain to place order. I have two questions for this scenario:
1. Is it possible change above [example.shopify.com] to custom [shopify.example.com] subdomain name?
2. What is the common practice for this scenario?
Hey there, @rivsrush
Bo here from Shopify Support!
That is a really great question. I did some digging into this for you and found out that merchants who are on the Lite plan, use draft orders, use Buy Buttons, or use Sales Channels (Facebook, POS, etc.) will still see
theirstorename.myshopify.com/1234567/checkouts/... at the checkout instead. As the website is not hosted by Shopify there is no way for us to add a custom subdomain to the checkout. I hope this makes sense!
All the Best,
