Why is my Facebook Pixel not ready for catalog creation on Shopify?

Hello!

 

My store is up and running and I am the facebook business manager. I created a Pixel that works perfectly.

The only this is when I want to create a catalog on facebook using the pixel, it is impossible as facebook tells me that the pixel is not ready (even though it is working and it has already fired a lot...)

 

Any idea?

Gabriela, try doing so through Business Manager. If you don't have such an account yet, set that up. It is best practice to have one as you are easily able to manage all your Facebook assets and users. In Business Manager, you can assign your pixel to the ad account and catalog.

Apparently I'm not the only person in that situation!

I am in this same boat. Pixel is green in the business manager and it says its working when i monitor it. Still not adding my product catalog.

Same issues.  I've invested almost three weeks of support from Shopify and FB on this issue.  It seems that Shopify would be very motivated to make sure that if they offer a sales channel that it works and complies with all the requirements that google, Facebook hat to publish products or advertise on their platforms  Most people use Shopify because they are not engineers.

Hi Gabriela,

 

There are 3 options to adding products to Facebook catalog,

you're trying to add products with the third option which is a bit complicated to use, it's a bit confusing as it says "Connect Facebook Pixel",

I recommend using the "Add Manually" or "Use Data Feed" options to upload your products,

the event data source connects your pixel to your catalog, as long as you marked it there it connects all the events (add to cart, purchase..) to your catalog, it will all work the same with the first two options to upload products.

Unfortunately, I would like the upload of the products to be automatic and not manual, that's why I chose the Pixel Option...

Edit product titles on your website to be lowercase . this fixed my issue.,, Facebook has title rules that do not include uppercase titles. good luck

I'm having the same problem! The pixel is not ready and I can't figure out why. Diagnostics tells me that I'm missing a product ID?

Fix for Facebook Pixel not matching Products with Catalog and Facebook Pixel Not Ready

 

OK, so after spending literally over 2 months of Shopify telling me it was not there issue and Facebook telling me the data from Shopify was wrong and not their problem.  (I'm not kidding...I have emails and tickets for months of both support teams either pointing the finger or not assisting at all) 

 

It sort of is their issue.  Shopify DOES NOT provide the correct info/format required by Facebook.  As we are trying to put a product on their platform it's their rules.

 

Facebook Shop.  Use the Flexify app to do a manual upload of your products on Shopify to your Facebook Catalog Manager so that they show up on your Facebook Shop.  It was easy to use and worked for me.  The app has a couple videos you can watch to learn how to use it correctly.

 

I first found this thread to lead me to Flexify.  NOT ONE TIME DID ANYONE IN SUPPORT AT SHOPIFY ADVISE THAT I SHOULD USE IT.  Even though Paula a Shopify staff member posted the fix on that thread.

But I want to add Instagram and you cannot do it without connecting facebook shop....very frustrating

Well I think that lengthy explanation answered a question nobody asked. All people want to know is why the pixel is greyed out and they cant choose it to add/update products, not how to set it all up from the start again. I think you are just trying to promote a 3rd party app that has no ratings at all yet.
