We are using Google Apps for email. It works great. Especially their spam filtering. I have not had one spam email make it to my inbox and it catches about 50 a day!
Not sure what you mean by verifying domain ownership and uploading an .html file for Google Apps? All I need to do was set the mx records they provided through the admin interface and it took off.
Could you elaborate a little more on exactly what you have and what you are trying to accomplish?
This is where I’m getting lost. When I log in to my google apps account, it takes me to my dashboard screen. There I’m getting a message that says…
“To activate Google Apps services you must verify that you own your domain – kurthdesignworks.com. Verify domain ownership.”
When you click on “verify domain ownership”, you get two options of veryfing ownership. Changing CNAME options through your host or uploading a .html file on to your website.
Did you not have to do any of this to set up email accounts?
Well I went ahead and signed with an domain name I had laying around and it appears they now make you verify your domain. Basically you will need to verify with a CNAME record as you can’t upload the .html file into shopify.
Sign into your hosting or registrars admin interface and create a cname record that looks like this:
googlecode.yourdomain.com -> google.com
and click verify. Once you are verified you can then make your mx record changes. There is a link to the direction on the prior page from the verify page on what setting you need.
If this is over your head, I can do it for you for a small fee. Contact me at dwright at ddrecreational dot com if your interested.
