All things Shopify and commerce
Hey there!
I have a problem with shipping settings on Merchant Center for our carriers (UPS, USPS, FedEx).
The shipping cost on the site
The shipping cost on the merchant
The settings which I used on Merchant
Why the shipping costs are different if I use carrier rate integration in Google Merchant?
Here are my carrier rate settings on Shopify.
As I see that, because of Discounted rates from Shopify Shipping we have a higher price for the shipping on the Google Merchant Center. We can't determine our discount % for using on Google Merchant Center shipping settings. We don't have an account on USP or USPS service.
Guys, please help! How did you fix this problem? How can we found the correct discount rate for our manual shipping settings?
We used automatic integration for shipping settings, integrated settings was incorrect either.
You should contact Shopify to know what your discount rate is.
Here is the public info: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/shipping/shopify-shipping/rates
However currently you can't add negative adjustments in Google Merchant Center, only positive. So even if you know what your discount is, you will not be able to match it in Google Merchant Center.
If you want accurate settings, you need to set it up manually in Shopify and in Google merchant center.
I have myself submitted feedback to Google to bring back negative courier adjustments. I recommend you do the same in Google Merchant Center > top right corner > report error
Hi! Thanks for your answer!
=> If you want accurate settings, you need to set it up manually in Shopify and in Google merchant center.
Is it possible to set up manually shipping settings in Shopify? Can we use shipping discount rate in Shopify settings or should we don't use carriers with shipping discount from Shopify?
=> However currently you can't add negative adjustments in Google Merchant Center
we can add negative adjustment in Google Merchant Center. That strange.
BTW, is it a problem when the shipping cost is differed by less than $1? Google merchant center is rounded off my adjustment so I still got the difference on ~50 cents
You can setup your shipping however you like. I'm merely suggesting an alternative.
I just tested the negative modifier and it works now. It didn't last week. That is great news. So in this case simply add a negative percentage to try and match what you have in Shopify.
The rule for Google merchant center is either equal or an overestimate. So test around with the percentages until you are equal or just above.
Test different states and item weights to ensure they all work.
You can test shipping prices in GMC > products > all products > select a product > scroll to the center and you will find shipping and tax calculator.
Hi @ArtemAkulov ,
As @EmmanuelFlossie suggested, you cannot set a negative value the shipping cost in the Merchant Center.
The Shopify settings to set your product feed shipping settings for Google Shopping are quite limited . If you want a more advanced feature for setting your rates on Google Shopping, you might find AdScale a more suitable tool for advertising your products on Google Shopping.
It enables to advancesd shipping specific rules by Shipping country, that will enable you more flexibility and functionality in your Merchant Center feed.

Hey there,
I tried to calculate our discount % for a couple of products for 17 states.
And I found the discount % is different almost for every State. AND products with the different weight have the different discount %.
We have more then 600 products. It is impossible to add discount % for all cases.
Maybe some apps can figure out this problem.
Guys, I can't believe that working solutions for that case isn't exist.
Maybe someone can help us in our case?
