HOW TO: Change standard tracking URL

Hi all,

The standard tracking url goes to Google search like:
http://www.google.com/search?q="ORDER ID"

I want to change the google url but don't know where i can fix that. You only get the Google URL if you don't have any shipping company selected.

Hi Joris,

Stephanie here from Shopify's Guru Team :)

You can change the tracking URL from within the order page. Here's how:

1. Select 'more' within the fulfillment card:

2. Then select 'edit tracking'

3. You will then see an option to edit the tracking URL

When adding a tracking number initially, there is also an option to add the correct tracking URL.

Is there also an option to change the google url permanently? Changing the google url for each order isn't an option for us..

Hey Joris! 

If you're using the same courier for all of your orders, I would recommend inputting the tracking page URL into your shipping notification template. That way, once you enter the tracking number for each order, the correct tracking URL should appear within the email :)

Hi there,

i would like to follow up on this. 

We use two couriers: Royal Mail and Amazon.  Is it possible to allow the customer to click on the tracking link and it automatically send them to the right courier website for tracking?  This currently works for royal mail but not for amazon.

For some reason, Amazon always likes to https://startrack.com.au/track/search rathan than https://track.amazon.co.uk/tracking/

It would be great if we could get this to work for all orders?  Is it only in the shipping template you can do this?  Will this then work for all areas across the site including our customer portal?  And how can we make sure that the hyperlink is recognisable for both couriers?

How to do that? I use a single shipping service and would like to get the tracking url updated to every order.

Now I have to copy paste the url to every order once I fulfill it and its annoying.

I already have to copy paste the tracking number and then switch windows to copy paste the url for every single order. Pls help.

And also will the url be available in the user's account or on the website or is it visible only in the email?
