I really need help with the
taxes on my shopping cart. I dont charge taxes except for items being
delivered to texas but when you add something to my shopping cart and then
go to checkout it adds taxes to the total on step one, but when you put
in your address and continue to step two, it will remove the charge for
taxes if your outside the state of texas. but there lies the problem, the
fact that i say im not going to charge taxes and then they see taxes being
added on the first page of checkout is causing them to abandon checkout
before even reaching step two, which is payment, This is a major problem.
Is there any way I can make it only add taxes on the second page of
checkout instead of the first? and only for items being delivered to texas?
No it didn't. Only in step 2 when I switched to Texas did it added the taxes.
I used a VPN and a different browser to place me in Texas and still it only added taxes during step 2. This time it did it automatically because it could detect that I was in Texas but still only in step 2. I used Chrome and Firefox browser to test this with.
Is there any certain products I can test this with?
Just another quick idea, is the website automatically logging you into your account? This may do it. If so, try using a "New incognito window" if you use chrome or a "new private window" in firefox (don't know the ie or safari ways). This will open a window that wont be recognized by your site allowing you to see it from a new customers perspective
