I have several products set up, and one with variants. I have several images uploaded. When I click on the variant to specify which image matches it, there is no way to identify which image it is. I'd expect there to be hover text or some way for me to see either the image filename or the alt text I've assigned to the image. The thumbnails are small and I can't read if it's 8oz, 16 oz, etc. There must be an easy way to do this. I'm using Firefox and also tried Chrome on Windows 10. Thanks!
I usually do that through a combination of photo order following variant order for sequentiality. In case I'm not sure I right click on the photo and click on "Inspect Element" to read the image's name in the <img class>.
Not optimal I have to say but it works where it counts!
Thanks for your response. That certainly works, and keeping the inspector open isn't too terrible but a bit awkward.
Wow. It seems like that should be a no-brainer option to be able to see the name of the image I'm selecting. i suppose this is another of the things that are cropping up that Shopify probably has an add-on subscription to make work like packaging dimensions and live shipping? Not appreciating that direction.
If no one else has any suggestions I will mark this as resolved by a workaround.
Thank you again, Rick
Not part of an add-on unfortutely, I would be using it first hand here if it were available. I remember a year ago Shopify had a different layout for this where I would just "Right Click" & "Save As" on the image to get the name quickly, however this has been removed with the new implementation sadly.
