Sorry to hear you're having some trouble getting the store paused. Are these the steps you're taking to pause the store?
Log in as the store owner.
From your Shopify admin, click Settings, and then click Plan and permissions.
In the Store status section, click Pause.
If you agree with the terms, then click Pause.
Enter a message for visitors to your store.
If so, can I ask you to try this from another browser or device entirely to see if this is something local. If you're using Google Chrome, trying to troubleshoot this using an Incognito window can also be helpful.
Here's our instruction on how to pause your Shopify store. Please note that after you’ve paused your Shopify store, it only disables checkout which means the customers can’t buy your products but they still can see them. What’s more, you will be charged the cost keeps running your store. Or else, you need to cancel the apps individually. In addition, when you pause the store, you will get a final bill from Shopify if you still have any charges on your account.
