Shortly after creating my second shopify account I received a suspicious looking email supposedly from Shopify that read. Screenshots also here: http://imgur.com/a/xu1iz

** Please note that failure to complete the process outlined below will lead to the suspension of your domain name. **

Dear Customer,

Please read this important e-mail carefully.

Recently you registered, transferred, or modified the contact information for one or more of your domain name(s). ICANN requires all accredited registrars to validate your new contact information. You can read about ICANN's new policy at: http://www.icann.org/en/resources/registrars/raa/approved-with-specs-27jun13-en.htm#whois-accuracy.

You will have also received this notice if we could not successfully deliver a WHOIS Data Reminder Policy (WDRP) email or a renewal reminder notice.
In order to ensure your domain name(s) remain active, you must now click the following link and follow the instructions provided:

http://approve.domainadmin.com/registrant/?verification_id=6196822&key=tRR6SKzvch&rid=105058

Failure to follow the above link and complete this process will eventually lead to the suspension of your domain name(s).

Upon clicking the link there is a button that sais 'verify information'.

I'm familar with fake orgnsiations trying to steal identity/money/account info etc via methods like this. I'm suspicious because of the generally formatting, URL, email address and that fact I never received this type of verification for my first Shopify account earlier this year.

Has anyone seen this before or can anyone from Shopify confirm or deny if it's real or fake?

Hi, Alexander.

Leon here from the Shopify Support Team.

It's always good to err on the side of caution with emails asking you to confirm anything, but not to worry - this one's from us. When you purchase a domain through Shopify, there is an email sent out requesting that you confirm your email address by clicking the link within that email. You will need to follow the instructions in that email to confirm your newly purchased domain otherwise, your domain may end up being suspended.

I hope this helps!

Cheers,

Leon

Hi, new to Shopify here...

We recieved the 'famous' VERIFICATION REQUIRED - Please verify your domain name(s) as soon as possible mail. The forms are incredibly long and 12 in total, mostly briefed copies of the first. Do we have to sign all? and how to send them back, and to whom?

Moreover the provided link, http://approve.domainadmin.com/registrant/?verification_id=10491551&key=UVRWbujUEj&rid=105058 has expired.

Please help, rgds, Sander
