Making lower-case tags upper-case

Hi

We runa wine store which we are taking online.

One of my team enthusiastically tagged our wine with "red" "white" "rose" etc (l/c)

Now we realise that they are customer facing and want them to read "Red" "White" "Rose etc (u/lc)

Is there an easy way to chance case?

Is red the same as Red?

I've tried bulk selecting products and retagging them with the u/lc version but cant seem to get them to shop on the site.

I've cleared my browser cache so it's not that.

I've read all the help documents on tags but I can't find it anywhere.

This must be a common problem/mistake for newbies like us.

Thanks

Mike

Hey there,

Here am adding one link which can help you solve your problem.

https://shopify.github.io/liquid/filters/upcase/

like this example if your tag is coming from

{{tag}}

then you can use this code.

{{ tag | upcase }}

Let me know if it helps.

thank you.

Hi
Thanks for that.
But the new tags need to be upper and lower case.
So

white

becomes

White

I’m no coder but I think this code just makes them uppercase.

Thanks
Mike

Hi.

Thank you for this.

Using this would make my life easier - except I have no idea what to do
with the code.

This is an accepted solution.

Ok. I think i have a solution - for us at least.

I'm posting it as it may help other shop owners in a similar position.

I have changed our lower case tags to tags that are upper and lower case.

I did it by first creating a new tag for each collection - Red Wines, White Wines, Orange Wines, Spirits etc etc.

I then bulk selected the wines with the unwanted lower case tag (eg: red) .

I bulk ADDED the new, wanted (eg: Red Wines) tag to the selected products.

Then I removed the unwanted lower case tags.

Then I went and changed the tag to look for in COLLECTIONS and this was what made the difference.

This solution may not work for everyone, but it solved our problem.

As I understand it from the documentation, I now just have to wait for the (now) unused tags in lower case to fall out from our "Browse By" list.

Thanks for all the offers of help.

Mike
