Hello -
I'm working on a store for a client that has a "gift catalog." It functions like a regular store, but the product purchase price is actually a donation. Each item will have 4 set prices, some will, additionally, have an "other" option.
So, say we have a coffee mug.
Price 1: $30
Price 2: $40
Price 3: $50
Price 4: $100
So, the user is making a donation and getting a Tshirt as a "gift." Complicating manners more is that the four prices are for the same SKU - so, regardless of how much they pay/donate, inventory will deduct 1 from the sku.
Is there any way to set this up or a plugin that would help get this running?
Hello!
Shopify won't enforce a unique SKU so the SKU isn't really an issue. You could create a product with 1 option named "Value" for example that has option values "Thirty, Forty, Fifty, Hundred" and each of those variants will have the same SKU and same inventory level but different prices - 30, 40, 50 and 100 respectively.
The issue you will have is syncing up inventory level on all 4 variants if one of either is purchased. You will not be able to work around that without an app or a custom app.
Maybe there are other creative ways of accomplishing the same, but I can't think of one.
Hope this helps!
You can use the Duplicate SKU sync app to keep the inventories of duplicate items in sync. It costs just $5/month to sync unlimited products.
