I have a wine shop with more than 200 products. Besides the broad categories (white, red, sparkling, etc), clients would like to search wines using specific criteria (grape variety, producer, country, agricultural method, etc).
I would like to allow the client to search products using these specific tags. Putting all these tags on one “browse by” drop down bar makes it overcrowded.
Would it be possible to add multiple “browse by” drop down bars to the shop?
You can try Ultimate Filter & Search https://apps.shopify.com/ultimate-search-and-filter-1 and create filters by product tags. For example:
+ Pinot Noir
One of its advanced features is Semantic search that understands complex users' queries and returns relevant results. Your customers can search by tags, product type.
@Skinjapan There are a couple of non-app options (apart from rolling your own).
- Shopify's free Supply theme comes with a collection filtering sidebar which uses tags https://themes.shopify.com/themes/supply/styles/blue?
- There are also a number of paid themes (which probably work out cheaper in the long than an app) that support it and have more advanced options e.g. the Parallax theme by OutOfTheSandox https://outofthesandbox.com/collections/parallax-theme
Supply theme with sidebar filtering set up looks like this:
