Not able to update quantity when someone accidently overpurchases

Hello. 

Hope someone can help. 
so when I have 30 items available to sell and a customers chooses a higher amount than whats available it’s not letting them choose a lesser amount. 

can anyone help with this please! Im using the simple free theme

Sorry for some reason it is not letting me post pictures, but here is my url

If you choose any item on the page and enter 100 it’ll say sold out & when
you try to change it to 2 you cant update the item. It’ll still say sold
out.
