hi Addo,

We are developers (we are not looking for any dev work), marketers and also have our own websites. For a startup e-commerce platform Shopify is hard to beat. We also use WordPress/WooCommerce but most people cannt develop a store on that platform without hiring a developer, whereas with Shopify I have seen some great sites that people have made themselves. Shopify you pay as you go, WordPress you have an upfront development cost. From my point of view as an online marketer Shopify does everything I need and does it well eg SEO, Facebook and Google ad pixels and tags, Mailchimp integration. Everything! Plus Shopify sites seem to load faster than WordPress. here's an online comparisonI jus found pify vs Prestashop, I'll look for another one for you https://comparisons.financesonline.com/shopify-vs-prestashop If you choose Shopify as a platform you will not be disappointed, it's really very good

It depends whether you are interested to go for a hosted or self-hosted platform.

PrestaShop requires your own hosting but you can customize it a lot more than Shopify.

Hi @Addo

The two platforms are different in it's core nature. Shopify is a SaaS (Service as a Software) solution while Prestashop is an open source one. With a hosted-cart like Shopify, this  almost everything has been set up for you to focus on growing your business. With Prestashop, you go down the DIY (Do It Yourself) approach and that's not what everyone can handle in a long term relationship.

When you pay for Shopify, it’s hard to argue you’re not getting your money’s worth. But when you pay for Prestashop, somehow you will end up paying for expensive modules you need the most as your business keep growing.

Following key points mentioned above, many people are looking for away to from Prestashop to Shopify to simplify their command over their eCommerce site. With the help of LitExtension, the migration becomes so much easier than any other method. It's simple to perform LitExtension's migration tool as you just need to follow a few step to have your new store set up. Here you can give it a try the demo migration to better visualize how the process works.

Feel free to contact them to have your question resolved in half a blink!

Shopify is a famous hosted source eCommerce platform that can be set up in small or large businesses It can adapt to big volume sales. Meanwhile, Prestashop is a user-friendly, feature-rich, and open-source eCommerce platform.

With unlimited products given and advanced eCommerce functionality, professional reporting and a big inventory of outputs, Shopify is certainly an appropriate choice for you to watch over your business.

On the other hand, if you have from small to medium store size and just want a platform that can provide you with the customization and the ability to sell without a hitch, do it on Prestashop. Moreover, this platform is outstanding in terms of thousands of add-on modules and ready-made themes. You can get started for free, the setup is easy, and you don’t have to worry about any maintenance at all.

If you deeper understand these two platforms, I found 2 detailed reviews: Shopify review, Prestashop review
