I'm seeing this alert in the Shopify admin that's asking me for a Photo ID:
We were unable to verify your Shopify Payments account information. Please upload a Photo ID to continue receiving payouts.
I can't find any help topics about this. Which photo ID do they want? A driver's license? Who's photo ID should it be? The business owner? The person who set up the Shopify account?
Ash here from the Shopify team. Welcome to the Shopify Community!
It sounds like our team needs to verify some information for your Shopify Payments account. This is part of a standard review process when merchants choose Shopify Payments to process payments on their store. The ID we require can be any valid, government issued photo ID. Some examples of this are a passport, or a drivers license. As for who's ID we require, that will be the Account Owner. Only Account Owners have access to payment information, so they should be the one to set up Shopify Payments, and submit information for account verification.
I hope this helps, and feel free to reply back here if you have any further questions, or need any further clarification.
