To help you better, I'm going to need to find out some more information if that's ok. Each theme is built a little differently and have different workflows and features, and I'm wondering if that could be the case here. Can I ask what theme you are using and if you can share your store URL so I can test this out also please?
Once I know which theme you're using, I can investigate a little more and see if this is how the theme is supposed to work or if it's an error, and if it is an error to know the best next steps to get this sorted for you!
