Canadian seller - we are getting the error that products are not publishing to google - update merchant tax settings.
It seems something has been updated in the tax settings interface because we have changed nothing and for the last few months we can't figure this out.
We sell Canada-wide but according to our accountant are not required to specifically register with each province for provincial sales taxes, only HST with CRA. Will this keep erroring out until we register for provincial sales taxes with the 4 provinces on the screen (Manitoba, BC, Sask, QC)? Does google require these reg numbers for shopping/ads? It's possible she is wrong about needing to register but I seem to be getting different answers every time I ask an accountant / similar merchant.
Help!
In Canada, the tax values need to be added in the price.
Not separate in the tax settings.
If your tax settings are auto added, this means an app you are using is doing this. Check your data feed app and make sure it does not submit tax settings. If you do not know how to check, request support from the app you are using.

Read the tax section for Canada.
It looks like my previous comment was incorrect, make sure the taxes are added in the checkout not in the prices or sale price.
Yes I have read this. I have set up as instructed but all of my products are failing on google ONLY and the instruction is "update merchant tax settings". I can't figure out exactly what problem google has with my tax settings and the problem started when the tax settings interface was updated.
My only hypothesis is Google is requiring Canadian merchants to have tax registration numbers with each province that collects provincial sales taxes (BC, Sask, QC & MB) separately from federal, but my accountant is saying this is not required.
There is no such thing as tax id requirements. Only if you are advertising in South Korea is this a requirement.
I recommend you contact Google directly about this, as we the public community without looking in your account can only guess what the issue is. I have a few Canadian clients and have no issues.
