There may be a couple of reasons why you weren't able to have an order go through on our site, so let's check them out together.
The first would be that in order to access your checkout area (for you or for customers) you would need to add a payment method and select a paid plan.
If you're still in your trial period and then later decide you don't wish to continue with your store, you can close it down before the trial ends and you would still not be billed for this.
Let us know if this is the case for your store as it would then likely explain the behaviour you mentioned here.
