I agree with you, we absolutely don't want to lose any SEO ranking of our website after performing a migration. I think that it will be a huge damage to your online business if customers cannot find your site at a good place as usual and they will be offered many other choices. However, I would recommend you an automated data migration service which can help you transfer data from WooCommerce to Shopify easily without interrupting your current store performance and save your SEO ranking. This service provides 2 options for you to preserve your SEO URL: SEO URLs Migration and 301 Redirect. You can read detail information here. During the migration process, you have many additional options including these both options so that your data and SEO ranking will be moved simultaneously to your new store on Shopify. I used it and I did a successful migration, hope you will have a good result as your expectation!
My name is Alison, and I'm the Customer Success Specialist for Ablestar apps. Our Woo Importer app comes with a 30 day trial of our Link Manager app, and the Link Manager can automatically create product and collection redirects for the products and categories imported via the Woo Importer.
It cannot automatically create redirects for the URLs contained in the product descriptions, blog posts, or other pages, but it can scan the site and list any bad URL's that it finds in these areas, then help you manage and correct them.
There may be emails stored in customers inboxes, bookmarks they have in their browsers, or other links to the WooCommerce site that will not show up on the site scans. To catch these items, the Link Manager will monitor the site (while installed) for any page not found errors, and list them as they occur for you to redirect or correct.
You may also want to look into the Google Search Console and/or Bing Webmaster Tools. These are both free tools from Google and Bing you can use to help manage your site's web presence. You can use them to request indexing of specific pages, and also request removal of any indexed pages that are no longer valid.
I hope this helps, if you have any questions please feel free to reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The only way I know to preserve your SEO URLs, if you are not tech-savvy, is to delegate your migration to automated services or developers.
The latter option is quite expensive. And I guess, there is no need to spend so much money. It’s better to use automated services like this most known one. There is an additional option “Migrate categories and products SEO URLs” from fromor another one for redirects to your target store after migration.
