We host monthly sales on Shopify. We only host sales one week of every month. I changed our collection on our last sale and Shopify defaulted back to the default tax rate and overcharged sales tax on all sales. I understand how to issue the sales tax refund to the customer. We have already received payout for this sale and will not host another sale until mid-October. Refunds typically are deducted from the next payout. However, since our next sale is nearly a month away, will they wait this long or will they charge the refunds to my credit card? I would need to get prior authorization to have this placed on my credit card. Anyone know exactly how this work?
