We are building a store where we want to sell all kinds of gift card codes. For example, we want to sell gift cards for Spotify, iTunes, Netflix, Amazon, Gamestop..., all major game platforms like Steam, PlayStation Network, EA Origin, BattleNet, XBox, , etc. We are also selling gift card codes for games.

I recently stumbled on this Terms of Payments: https://www.shopify.com/legal/terms-payments-de#prohibited-businesses

You are not allowed to sell: "Virtual currency or stored value; Virtual currency that can be monetized, resold, or converted to physical or digital products and services or otherwise exit the virtual world (e.g., Bitcoin); sale of stored value or credits maintained, accepted and issued by anyone other than the seller".

Are we to violate this terms by selling gift cards? Somebody having experience with selling digital goods on Shopify?

This is an accepted solution.

You are correct that you would violate the Terms of Service for Shopify Payments.

Gift cards are considered a High Risk Item.  Many People sell Dead cards, or alternately people buy them, use them, then do Charge backs.  Being a High Risk Item, You are only allowed to sell Gift Cards for your own store.
