May I pay one months subscription to setup my shopify store then cancel the subscription? Then I will then come back after 3-6 months and continue my subscription? I don't know what my schedule is between real life full time job and a product I want to launch. I would like to get the store setup out of the way
I want to get the website completed and discontinue subscription. Once I finalize everything with my Kickstarter (which I don't know when), I will relaunch the store by starting to pay subscription again.
I'm assuming it's okay to do that. But I want to confirm that I won't loose my store.
I already used up the 14 day trial a few months ago to play around with things but I was just too busy and the 14 day trial was great to get the hangs of things.
Hey there, @ahab
Bo here from Shopify Support!
It is awesome to hear that you are interested in starting up with Shopify and that is a great question. To help you reduce the impact of recent events on your store, if you choose to reopen your store within 90 days of closing it, Shopify guarantees that all of your store's data and configuration information will be preserved. We cannot guarantee anything beyond 90 days. If you are setting up your store and need some extra time on your free trial, I would recommend reaching out to support towards the end of your free trial to request some additional time, they may be able to assist you with it. We have a guide to closing your store here.
In that instance, we’ll need to access your account in order to resolve this issue. While we’re not able to provide account-specific support via the Shopify Community at this time, we’d be happy to continue assisting you through live chat, email, or callback. Please visit https://bit.ly/3cJkx8V and log in to your account to create a support request.
As you are new to the platform I would like to welcome you! Welcome! We have this fantastic article on successfully transitioning from a Kickstarter campaign to a Shopify store here which I would highly recommend reading. What is it that you are planning on selling with Shopify? I would love to know more about your business so that I can provide more specific resources to help you get started.
In the meantime, as you are getting your store set up I would definitely recommend taking a look at our Essential Shopify Store Launch Checklist before going live to make sure you don't miss anything. We also have this great Buyer Trust 101 post which goes through how to make your store more trustworthy to customers so that they will check out.
All the Best,
Thanks @Bo this is really helpful. I think I missed the reply somehow.
I'm going to take some steps after I complete a few more things. I also did some research and there are free tools to backup up your website but I would not count on them unless website is relatively simple. What you mentioned is quite useful. I may open a ticket later for the link you provided.
Thank you so much.
