Shipping Confirmation E-mail

Is anyone still working on this? We have order confirmation (to the customer) and notification (to the shop owner)e-mails, but what about a shipping confirmation e-mail for the customer? Even it wasn't directly tied in with items or purchases that are marked shipped, we could simply have it set up that all you have to do is fill in a box with the customers e-mail and optional tracking number(s) and send out a templated confirmation e-mail. Any ideas? Otherwise I'll start on my own template for manual use. Thanks!

Right now we have got nothing to help with automatic creation of shipment notices.

Its fairly certain that we will add this back in in the future though.

Has this been answered / updated yet? When the manufacturer is not integrated with Shopify and thousands of orders are ready to ship, is there a button that can be clicked to notify all customers or certain amount that can be manually selected with some sort of categories like time of customers’ purchase in order, so that the first 75 customers or whatever amount highlighted can then be notified via e-mail that their order is being shipped?
