It seems that the only card reader that demands you press a button to take a contactless payment is the shopify one.
Weve been using shopify for over 3 years and in the beginning the card reader activated and a customer just had to waive their car over the reader to make a contactless payment.
However about 2 years ago they changed that.
You now have to press the green tick to activate the contactless option which make no sense as it's meant to be "contactless".
And now with covid-19 everywhere, touch points needs to be minimised. I doubt the card reader likes the amount of sanitiser currently being used on it.
Anyone else feel the same?
I've raised it with shopify, but it's like banging your head against a brick wall.
