Shopify Store Closures

Ok. As I understand it, Shopify will now hold data for 90 days upon store closure. Is that correct? 

Does this include the actual custom theme? Can we come back to Shopify say a year later and access the same theme?

If not. Is there a way from the dashboard to save the theme file for a later re-upload?

Please advise.

Bo here from Shopify Support! 

That is a great question. It is true that Shopify preserves all of your data for up to 90-days, after this time the data is no longer maintained - this would include any themes and code changes made to said themes. We cannot guarantee the upkeep of any data after 90-days. However, you can download your theme file to your desktop for future use. 

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
2. For the theme that you want to download, click Actions > Download theme file.

The theme is sent in a .zip file to the email that is associated with your staff account. You can read more about this process here.
