My shopify site is due to go live this Sunday. I have just tried to check my email (Host papa is my web hoster) and shopify overrides any access to my cpanel or webmail on Hostpapa. All that comes up is my shopify site with a 404 page not found.
When I log in directly to Hostpapa it seems to have eaten my cpanel and webmail and so I cannot even access them any more from within. I can't even send them a ticket for help as this gets blocked by the shopify site as well.
This only started happening since my shopify site and hostpapa were pointed at each other.
My web designer is out of the office today and I am beside myself - any advice!?

You've got it backwards. Shopify will not override these things but rather this is a result of the setting DNS settings you've created at hostpapa. It's the drawback of them having the cpanel accessed via a subpage url.
I would be contacting hostpapa first. If they can't map a subdomain to the cpanel system there's likely a generic login (via the server ip address) that you can use.

(and I realise that may have made zero sense)
Thanks for this. You're right I think the problem is Hostpapa not Shopify. I have managed to send them a ticket, have left a phone message and have emailed someone direct from an earlier email to them when we were trying to point to their server.... one hour on and no word as yet. WIsh me luck!
