Ok, I am a little ticked off here. It has come to my attention that Shopify keeps the transaction fee (2.9% + $0.30) even if the customer returns the item and your store refunds the full amount. Sure, I could put in my clauses a restocking fee, but I do not want to deter traffic because of that either. To me it is not good business practice.
So for instance, I recently had a $1,550.00 place yesterday. It was a bulk order for a high quantity of parts. Now, I stand by my products, but what if my customer decides they want to return the item for a refund. As a good person, and a store trying to build its brand, I would accept the return. Here's the kick to the nuts. Shopify will not return my 2.9% + $0.30 transaction. I will do the math for you, $45.25. So now I have to make that hit up somewhere else. All for a computer to process numbers a data sheet? Why am I paying a monthly fee? Truly a despicable practice.
