Shopify now has SSL!

^ I've not looked into it but I highly doubt that it does. This would be a really, really odd way for the tool to check the urls in place - especially since it can just grab that info from source. What are these false positives that you're seeing? I haven't seen anything like for any store so far so I am curious. What store are we talking about here?

Hello Jason,

thanks for your response.

This is the store https://www.straplinebd.com

The "SSL certificate section" is reporting that the URLs of our apps (and many more, indeed) are not being called under HTTPS, what you can see it is not true.

The URLs of our apps are those starting  by //www.codeblackbelt.com/ at the end of the HTML source.

Regards,
   Mike

That's weird Mike. There's definitly some assets that are problems but the apps shouldn't be in that group. I would just bring this directly to support (or annoy your partner manager).

Hi Jason,

thanks for your response.

I indeed contacted Shopify support before posting in the forums. They said that the SSL checker might be faulty but that they couldn't do anything about it.

So let's hope they fix it in the future. A Shopify issue tracker would be handy in those cases.

Regards,
   Mike

Hello Advaith ,

thanks for your response but I don't see how a sitemap can be related to the Shopify SSL activation checker.

Does the SSL checker use the sitemap in any way?

Kind regards,
  Mike

 No, TshirtBonus said

Now if you guys would just let us edit our own robots.txt and sitemap.xml files. :(

and I was responding to that.

Where did this feature go? I've been waiting patiently for it to be enabled for my store and all of a sudden the option on the "Domains" page disappeared. Also, why is it taking over a month since announcement for my store to become eligilble for the upgrade?

Just curious to see how many Shopify owners have encrypted to SSL and if it went fairly quickly and smoothly.  I am tempted but am afraid that I will run into a snag and would like to make sure most of the kinks are worked out before I proceed at www.NoZoneUS.com.

Thanks, Advaith! I thought about trying that, but I wasn't sure that it would work...or that the search engines would like it. Have you actually performed an off-site redirect with your sitemap.xml file before? And did you notice any changes in your search engine rankings?

I've been working on SEO (slowly but surely) for the past few weeks, and TshirtBonus.com now appears on page three for the keyword "offensive t-shirts," and I really don't want to jeapordize those gains in any way.

Thanks!

SSL is great i signed up at the right time, but it should be enabled for all stores, and not a option,

better secuirty for all of us anyways.

the most important feature is optional, this shoudnt be.

With the change to https for all pages is there any need or benefit in adding the http URLs to Google Webmaster tools? Or should we just add the https URLs?

Thanks.
