Has anyone else had issues that relate to scripts that have been placed on site? IE, I have an Admedo (ad platform) pixel on 7 pages that I have no idea how it made it onto... nice.

@Alex M: Any plans to support SPDY now that SSL is available for most stores?

I enabled SSL a few days ago on our site and haven't had a customer order since.  Add to carts and traffic seems fine, I resolved any mixed content warnings I could find, can't seem to figure out what's wrong.

Any ideas?

My seo went downhill after i activated my SSL , I m very pissed with how there doing this. They just upgraded there SLL guide and aparently there are lines of code were suppose to add to our theme , this was not indicated when i switched to SSL  . Also make sure there are no http links in your theme page make sure any links are https.

my alexa rank jumped from 2 mil to 4.5 mill  few days after i activated the SSL , my rank is slowly recovering now.

I m very dispointed with shopify, There should of been better communication redgarding the SSL switch.

I activated my SSL and I've had a notice from Google that states that

We have noticed that the host name of your site, https://www.tangled-yarn.co.uk, does not match any of the "Subject Names" in your SSL certificate, which were:

  • *.myshopify.com
  • myshopify.com

As a result, many web browsers will block users from accessing your site, or display a security warning message when your site is accessed.

So how do I get a new SSL certificate by a Certificate Authority (CA) with a "Subject Name" or "Subject Alternative DNS Names" that matches my host name.

Hey Rachel - I'm not seeing any issue with the cert on your site. Possible that Google might have had incorrect info when they ran the test (or whatever generated that message)?

Thanks Jason, that's reassuming to see, where can I run a check like this?

I've just added the https version to Google Webmaster and it was the message I got. Should I delete the http property from webmaster or it okay to leave it, do you know?

I have noticed a signifcate drop off in traffic since the switch over and I had longstanding customers who haven't been able to access my site so the warning from Google kinda made me wonder if this was the cause. Lots of report of 804 and 803 errors too in my Moz crawl.

I changed over my SSL on April 6th. I took care to make sure I did it properly for SEO.

Since then my organic has been up 7.75%, so it has not effected my SEO. I was worried though. But since Google wants people to move to SSL, I strongly believe they won't be punishing people for doing so, which is why I felt comfortable to do it.

You need to make double damn sure you do it properly. Following instructions from Shopify is probably not enough and you should hire someone who knows exactly what this takes.

I'm sure you're right regarding Google, it can only help organic ranking in the longterm.

Just circling back - Shopify support could not find any issues and orders have bounced back.  Issues could have been fluke timing. Excited for the SSL capability as long term that's what Google expects.
