Switching website from Yahoo to Shopify...

HI!

Have had an outdated website on Yahoo Small business for 14 years.  I have finished building my new website in Shopify, was getting ready to transfer my domain...but realize this is trickier than I thought.

I don't want to mess anything up, and I want to keep my yahoo for my e-mail.

Any help is appreciated!

A Yahoo! store eh. Welcome to Shopify Belinda. You'll kick yourself for not moving sooner.

So your primary issue is keeping your yahoo email? Is it a @yahoo.com address or on your domain that you're migrating? I haven't used a yahoo email in a decade.

hi!  thanks, sure hope so! :)
just have had everything in yahoo small business all this time.  so my email is in a yahoo account, it does not have yahoo in the name though.  has my website in the name..
then I just have my website domain that I was going to transfer over.
I probably will have to call yahoo tomorrow to make sure I don't screw up my entire email system, they don't make it easy to reach them...
just don't know the steps to switch my domain over, etc..
thx!

It's been a while since I've dealt with email migration, but it will change when you migrate to Shopify. It depends who your domain is hosted with. You will need to edit your DNS records so the MX records are correct. That determines where you email is sent. This may help.
