Hank here from Shopify.
Depending on the current state of the store, it may be possible to release the domain for transfer. However, only if the store is at zero balance, AKA, no money owed that led to the freezing of the store.
If any money is owed on the store, this would need to be settled as the admin would need to be activated to release the domain and the domain cannot be transferred out within 60 days of purchasing it.
Now as this is account specific, I will just need to verify your account. I will send you an email to the email address attached to this forum's account and confirm some security questions about your store.
Once you reply to that email, I will look into this further for you.
All the best,
Thanks for reaching out about this, @elruzy.
Similarly to the above, it depends on a number of factors such as the status of your store, if there is a debt owed on the store and the age of the domain.
But I can certainly take a closer look and see what the current options are available to you. I will send you an email shortly, where we can continue the conversation.
Thanks for reaching back out here, @elruzy.
I sent you an email on December 28, so if you could reply to that, I can take a closer look to see what options are available to you.
If you have not received the email, let me know and I will resend it.
Thanks for reaching out about this, @Mardijour.
That sounds correct, that even though you have the authentication code, it would remain locked if there is any debt owed on the account.
The only way around this is to pay the outstanding balance (the money owed), and this should release the restriction on the domain for you to transfer it.
To assist you, I will share this guide about transferring your domain away from Shopify, but let me know if you have any additional questions.
