UK Chip & Pin Contactless isn’t Contactless

So as a new user of Shopify (POS & online store) we’re really happy to have made the switch. Apart from one huge problem - the chip & pin supplied by Shopify is not fully contactless - for some reason you have to press the checkmark (green tick) button to activate the contactless functionality. Considering the current situation with COVID this is unacceptable. With card  limits increased to £45 to reduce the amount of touch required on the pin pad it really does seem that Shopify need to act urgently to fix this. Do any other UK retailers have any thoughts on this?

Agreed. I have switched to Shopify this week from iZettle to ensure that my in shop and online inventories were synced and create a better workflow for myself but I am very unimpressed with the lack of true contactless transactions via the card reader and I am very much considering sending it back and sticking with my current system. Even despite the situation with Covid it is ridiculous that this card reader cannot handle such basic functionality and is unlike any other pos system I have used both professionally or as a customer. Is there going to be an update to rectify this or shall I just send it back right now?
