URL Redirect Migration from another platform

Hello, I am about to migrate a client's website from Seliton (a Saas) to Shopify. The thing is that his website is ranked very high on google and he doesn't wanna lose that. He asked me if it's possible to keep the URL for each product and category he has on the current website. So when a customer finds his URL, let's say the URL of a product page on google, and click on that URL to be redirected to the new platform (Shopify) on the same product page. Is it possible?

Or it's possible to just redirect all the url's from his current platform to the landing page of the new one. Apologize for my broken English! Thanks and be safe

Hi Nariza,

The good news is we can totally help you keep the URL for each product and category that your client has on his current website and keep his Google ranking safe.

We provide the automated migration tool that helps merchants migrate their data between 2 platforms automatically, accurately and safely. For the people who have used our migration service, we also offer friendly SEO URLs migration and 301 redirect service

To be more specific, we provide customized SEO URLs migration plugins, ones that are designed suitable for each store, these plugins help for migrating products and category URLs. Your old URLs will be saved in the target store and maintained. Meanwhile, 301 redirect is a permanent redirect process from one site to another site or one page to another page. In this case, the old pages would be pointed to the new pages automatically without meeting the 404 error.

The main difference between Migrate SEO and 301 redirect is that with the former, your products will be displayed under 2 different addresses, but only one in 301 redirect. It is totally up to your preferences.

Please contact us via live chat if you want more details. It's our pleasure to serve you.

Best of luck,

LitExtension team

Hi, never heard of this planform before... But I've recently migrated to Shopify from Magento. Was also looking for the way to do it with minimal damage to my store. Since I'm not a techie. I read lots of forums. And somebody suggested me this service - Cart2Cart. I ran a demo there. The overall result was good, so I went for a full migration. It didn't last long. As far as I remember, they have some additional options and I'm sure they'll help you migrate the URLs. Check the website, maybe you'll get the answer there. Hope my answer helped!
